About

About Me

I studied music in London, at the Royal College of Music, where I had the opportunity to perform at some of the UK's leading venues, as a soloist and as part of award-winning recorder quartet, BLOCK4. Since then I have lived, worked and performed internationally.

During my studies I was introduced to the Alexander Technique, which helped me deal with muscular tension that I was experiencing as a result of my playing. I was happy to find that it also helped with performance anxiety, stage presence, and developing a healthy practice as a musician. Later I trained for four years to qualify as an Alexander Technique teacher, in Berlin, while continuing my work as a musician and a recorder teacher. At the same time I qualified and worked as an ESL (English as a second language) teacher, specialising in work with young children.

I found that each strand of my studies wove together with the others, encouraging me to try new ways of working and helping me develop and improve as a teacher and a performer.

I am currently based in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where I offer lessons both online and in-person. I continue to learn every day, and hope to inspire my students to do the same, whatever their goals.
